MY STORY
Hello everyone! I’m Taylor - owner of Q & P Cakes. I figured this would be the perfect opportunity to introduce myself to those of you who don’t know me personally.
I’m 30 and the mother of 3 beautiful, amazing little girls - Quinlee (6) & Paisley (9) - this is where the name “Q & P” comes from. Then, there is Little Lucy who is 3! She has her own little "subshop" I created in December of 2021 called Lucy's Candy Land. Check it out on Etsy! I
LOVE being a Mom, business owner, baker & homemaker.
For as long as I can remember, I have always loved art - drawing, painting, photography, writing, and playing music ... but I lost touch with my favorite pastime when I went to college. I graduated from UMFK in 2014 with a degree in Biology. I struggled for years to find a job using my degree - so I waitressed to make ends meet.
One day, I was looking through my Grandmother's old cookbooks and a light went on in my head. I could stay home, bake, and do art all in one! It was going to be a leap of faith but I knew if I could perform well, this business would be a hit. I still use many of her hand-written recipes that I have since modified.
In no time, thanks to the support of my wonderful family, friends, and an amazing community, Q & P Cakes took off and became an up and running business! Q & P Cakes “officially” opened January 9, 2018. It is a Maine State Licensed Bakery & I also have my Maine State Vending License.
I am completely self-taught and there has certainly been a lot of trial and error in this business. There has been lots of late nights - baking, decorating, experimenting with recipes & practicing new techniques when my girls were fast asleep. But it has all been SO worth it.
The goal is to eventually - hopefully - have a storefront.

I’ve worked very hard for what I have and for everything that I put forward in my business. Thank you all for allowing me to show you all the creativity and imagination that I have. I love my job and I take pride in everything that I put to the table! [literally ;)] I am always up for any challenge, none too big!
I owe a special thank you to my Mom & Dad who help me endlessly with the girls. I couldn’t do this without you guys! Thank you ALL from the bottom of my heart for the business you have all given me - and I can’t wait to see where Q & P Cakes continues to go from here.
